BS in Psychology with an Emphasis in Community Counseling
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology, emphasizing Community Counseling, is designed to train students for careers in mental and behavioral health counseling, particularly in diverse and underserved areas. This program not only readies students for direct entry into mental health professions but also lays a solid groundwork for advanced studies in fields like psychology, public health, social work, education, and various medical and nursing disciplines.
Application Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program accepts applications from freshman and transfer students. Students can transfer a maximum of 60 units to the program.
- Completion of the Application for Undergraduate Studies
- A one-page essay describing interest in the Psychology Bachelor of Science degree Program.
- High School diploma
- Official transcript from all post-secondary schools attended
- Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Official SAT or ACT exam scores is recommended
- Upon admission students must take a placement exam in Math, Writing and Reading Comprehension
International Student Applicants
We do not require a separate application or additional fee for international applicants. Students applying to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, emphasizing Community Counseling program should be prepared to meet all of the admissions requirements as outlined above.聽
